Bought 2 2TB kits for two new iMacs, first went like butter, second had the dreaded 4041 error message, almost had a heart attack. Just opened up and pulled out card/reinstalled, worked fine.
One other comment- taking off the plastic base plate was the hardest part- just so everyone knows the connectors are very sturdy and not just tabs on the lid- you need the suction cup (pull hard!) as it is most of the force. No need to get “under” the base plate with the pry tool
For me, installation of this SSD extension into my Mac mini was very easy and quick (doing it first time, it took about 20 min). With restore of the OS using an iMac, it all in all took little more than one hour. Mac mini working like a charm.

Or drive in, had issue. Sent email and got a curt response to make sure it was seated. Issue was power button not the drive
