Every piece of our module is tested at the factory, but Apple's DFU process is very annoying and can run into all kinds of unexpected problems, so please make sure you have enough patience before purchasing this product.

Has the capacity but inconsistent performance.

Got the capacity ordered but performance was all over the place. Running the Black Magic Design drive speed tool recorded swings between 800MB/s and 2000MB/s in both read and write speeds. For example, one pass would record 1700MB/s write speeds and 900MB/s read. Next pass would be 1000MB/s write and 1500MB/s read. Reinstalled factory drive and disk performance measures consistently again.

A great upgrade- but tricky to get working

A great upgrade, all the needed tools were provided and of high quality. The only problem I had was in getting the drive to work with the operating system. DFU mode alone didn't work, I kept getting an error during the restore process.

What eventually worked was installing Apple Configurator and then xcode (not sure if xcode was the fix or a co-incidence). Then using Apple Configurator to do the restore. After that everything was good.

I was on the verge of returning the drive, as I thought it was faulty - so hopefully this review helps others with the same experience.

cannot get the drive to work no matter wehat I do

I have tried every thing I can think of to get this drive to work, and it just isn't happening.

Several different Intel & Silicon Macs to restore, a variety of USB-C and Thunderbolt cables, I have attempted to take the drive out of the mini and perform the installation over again, and it simply will not work.

When I put the Mac's original 512Gb drive back it it springs right back to life, if I put this 2Tb drive in the computer acts like it is in Sleep Mode and cannot be roused. Any attempts to restore the drive again all fail.
